PROJECTS OF THE IUA 65. Corpus Epistolarum Ioannis Dantisci |

The correspondence of Ioannes Dantiscus (1485-1548) is a very important group of manuscript sources regarding European and Polish Renaissance and Humanism in the first half of the XVI century. Although Dantiscus' correspondance has interested scholars since XVIII century, its major part remains unpublished. Now the work on the issue of Dantiscus' correspondence is pursued by the Center for Studies on the Classical Tradition in Poland and East-Central Europe (Warsaw University). The interdisciplinarity team of philologists and historians directed by Prof. Dr. Jerzy Axer and Dr. Anna Skolimowska and collaborating with scholars from Germany, Spain, Great Britain, Belgium, Sweden and Italy prepares the computer data-base containing the inventory of all the documents (manuscripts and prints) of that correspondence. Simultaneously we conduct other editorial works on that enormous collection of manuscript sources, intending its publication as a series Corpus Epistolarum Ioannis Dantisci. The series will consist of the following volumes :
The project was adopted by the UAI in Category C in 2003 on the initiative of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences.
