63. Diccionario Español e Internacional de Términos Literarios
(Spanish and international dictionary of literary terms)

Spanish, official language of 21 countries and spoken by more or less 400 millions of people, do not own yet an encyclopedia of literary terms used in the studies about literature which would be similar to the Encyclopaedia of Poetry and Poetics directed by A. Preminger, J. Warnke and O.B. Hardison or to the Dictionnaire International des Termes Littéraires inspired by R. Escarpit.

The DEITL project wants to elaborate, from the culture in Spanish, a big scale encyclopedia that would contain the updated research of all the terms used in the cultural critic. The expression "Spanish and international" means that all the words are considered even if they do not have any corresponding word in the literature in Castilian. The words that have a greater weight in the culture in Spanish and the ones that are not represented in other cultures will be treated with more care.

This project was adopted by the IUA in 2002 as a Category C project.
