41. Corpus of Byzantine astronomers

The project for the Corpus of Byzantine Astronomers is concerned to produce critical editions of Byzantine astronomical treatises or documents, each with a historical survey, a description and genealogy of the manuscripts, a translation into a modern language (English or French), a detailed mathematical commentary and specialized indexes.

Seven volumes have been published to date.
With vol. VII, the Corpus is published by the Oriental Institute of Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve).

The project was adopted by the UAI in Category C in 1985 on the initiative of the Académie Royale des Sciences, des Lettres et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique.
